In recent weeks, social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube have been flooded with the now infamous, Fire Challenge. A dangerous internet craze in which teenagers around the globe dowse themselves in rubbing alcohol or other accelerantss and set it on fire. All in the search of internet fame.
Some have already suffered the consequences
of this dangerous stunt. But a young burn victim and survivor, Samantha Diaz
, shared an eye-opening video on her Facebook account to show the severity of fire.
A December 2013 car accident that ended in a blaze led Diaz to lose her arm, and left her unrecognizable to family and friends.
Diaz, speaks out against several dangerous viral challenges, and asks "How much more ignorant can you people be?" [sic]
She goes on to ask people to stop sharing these disturbing videos, think about people who have lost their lives to fire, and understand the everyday difficulties burn victims endure.
