Zara Says Sorry For Selling Childrens T-shirt That Looks Like Jewish Star Of David Uniform
High street clothing store Zara has been forced to apologize after failing to spot the glaring anti-semitic undertones with their latest design, a children's T-shirt intended to resemble a sheriffs top.

The description for the item, which was being sold in the UK and online for children up to the age of three, was striped sheriff's T-shirt.

But the top, with its blue and white stripes and what also resembles a large, yellow 'Star of David' badge in the corner, looks much like the uniform persecuted Jews were forced to wear by the Nazis during the Holocaust.

Eagle-eyed Reddit users spotted the design and quickly began commenting online.

One observer described the production of the top as 'a very clumsy move, especially for a European firm' while another, more blunt, response called the quality control department 'idiots', adding: 'Someone obviously didn't pay attention in school.'

Twitter users were also quick to call the Spanish brand out on its huge 'fashion fail.'

Commenting on the response to the controversial piece, a Zara spokesperson told 'The item in question has now been removed from all Zara stores and

'The garment was inspired by the classic Western films, but we now recognize that the design could be seen as insensitive and we apologize sincerely for any offence caused to our customers.'

The T-shirt was on sale from the retailer this morning but has since been taken down. According to website, it was also being sold in Zaras Israeli, German, French, Albanian and Swedish stores.
