NEW YORK (CBSNewYork)–– Police were searching Wednesday for two suspects who allegedly pointed a gun at a 1-year-old child's head as they robbed the residents of a home in Brooklyn.
As 1010 WINS Holli Haerr reported, police said around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, the suspects walked into a home on East 49th Street in the 67th Precinct, which includes Flatlands and East Flatbush, Brooklyn.
The suspects picked up the 1-year-old boy and pointed the gun at him, as they threatened to take the child if the four adults in the home did not comply with their demands, police said.
The suspects threw the child to the ground, and made off with sneakers, as well as an iPhone 5 and other electronics, police said.
The suspects were both described as black males between the ages of 20 and 25, police said. One of the suspects was described as being about 6 feet 1 inch tall and wearing a red hooded sweat shirt and tan pants, while the other was described as being about 5 feet 5 inches tall with dark clothing.
A total of 18 pairs of sneakers were stolen with a value of about $1,500, police told 1010 WINS.
Both suspects wore bandannas over their faces during the robbery, police said.
