A few years back, American Idol contestant Carrie Underwood released the ultimate break-up song, “Before He Cheats,” which detailed the revenge she took on her cheating lover — or rather, her cheating lover’s car.
For those who don’t know, the chorus is as follows:
I dug my key into the side of his pretty little souped up four wheel drive/ carved my name into his leather seats/ I took a Louisville slugger to both headlights/ slashed a hole in all four tires/ Maybe next time he’ll think before he cheats.
Granted, the song probably isn’t based on anything that actually happened, but I remember thinking how gratifying it would be to exact revenge in the way Underwood described.
I probably wouldn’t ever have the balls to follow in the singer’s footsteps, but one jilted girlfriend did — and it’s the best story ever
When 25-year-old Maria Alejandra Samaniego discovered her boyfriend, 27-year-old Pabil Muniz Quintanilla in bed with another woman, she snuck into Quintanilla’s parking garage and defaced his white Mercedes with a sharpie.
In massive letters, she wrote insults including “small penis,” “junkie” and “crap sex” all over the car in an effort to get back at her cheating (now ex-) boyfriend.
Samaniego then took a video of the Mercedes in all of its Sharpied glory and uploaded it to YouTube, so even if Quintanilla managed to erase the marks, she’d have permanent proof of the glorious work she’d done.
Normally, I’d say it’s best not to fight fire with fire. However, in this case, I think Samaniego’s actions were warranted (not to mention seriously badass).
You can see her vengeful masterpiece in the video up top.
