A group of about 70 anti-police brutality protesters gathered outside police headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri, on Dec. 31, 2014.

The protesters taped a list of 11 demands on the windows at police station. The demands included amnesty for demonstrators charged with non-violent offenses, noted the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The protesters also demanded the terminations of St. Louis Officer Randy Hayes, who shot and killed Kajieme Powell, and Officer Jason Flannery, who fatally shot VonDerrit Myers.

The protesters chanted, "This is what democracy looks like" while police used pepper spray to keep people out of their headquarters (video below).

However, about 20 protesters made it inside and staged a sit-in. An unidentified reporter from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch was also inside, tried to leave when police ordered everyone out, but was pepper sprayed.

Chris King, managing editor of the St. Louis American, posted a picture of the reporter on Twitter.

“Some of these demands are things that citizens should already get,” activist and Ferguson Commissioner Rasheen Aldridge told the St. Louis American. “They are commonsense demands. We can’t ask anymore, we have to demand it.”

“What happens is that the public cannot hold them accountable,” added activist Elizabeth Vega. “We have a police officer who gave Kajieme Powell less than 20 seconds of consideration before he killed him.”

"They're killing your people," Delisa Allen told the Daily RFT about black cops. "This is a genocide of black individuals in America. People will say it's not a genocide, but when you look up the definition of mass killings, every 28 hours one of us is dying. That's a genocide when we calculate it."

Multiple arrests were made by police for disturbing the peace and trespassing.
