If you've been keeping up with feuds in the entertainment industry this week, you're already familiar with the beef between
Stacey Dash and BET.
Dash raised some eyebrows when she accused BET of perpetuating segregation during a segment Fox & Friends about the controversy surrounding the lack of POC in Oscar nominations. "We have to make up our minds. Either we want to have segregation or integration," she said during the conversation, "If we don’t want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the [NAACP] Image Awards, where you’re only awarded if you’re black.”
BET was not on board with Dash's bullshit and responded immediately via
Instagram, reminding her of her stint on
The Game and asking for their money back for all the times she had been featured on the network.
But they weren't finished with her yet.
BET Jams tweeted that they were playing MJG's 1995 music video for "That Girl," which featured Dash. The hashtag? #NeverForget. Other anti-Dash tweets include Kanye West's “All Falls Down” and Rick Ross’ “Super High" music videos (videos in which Dash also appeared) with the hashtags #WeStillLoveYou, #YoureOneOfUs, and EvenIfYouDontWantToBe.
They make a fair point. Dash's desire to dissociate herself from the network, and perhaps people of color in general, could easily be interpreted as a betrayal.
But ultimately, expert trolling on BET's part, making them the definitive winners of the feud. (h/t
